According to Jimmy Apples, the leaker behind OpenAI’s search engine news reported that the event team has been hiring since January to organize in-house events for the company, and an event manager has been hired, which suggests that OpenAI might announce its next model in June.
Moreover, Jimmy pointed out that over 50 concurrent subdomains have been added since April 24th, showing the company has been busy lately. If the headlines regarding OpenAI’s alternative to Google Search are true, it may launch before Google I/O on 14 May 2024.
